Ecstasy, humour and high level virtuosity: accordion superstar Renato Borghetti and his ensemble!

Who has not seen on stage this accordionist and wonderful communicator with the attitude of a flamenco dancer, does not know what are joy and improvisation!

Brazilian accordion superstar Renato Borghetti, master of the rich musical gaucho traditions from southern Brazil, will be back in Europe with his new programme in 2009. His shows are unforgettable live events, offering an exciting and elegant mix of traditional forms such as Milonga, Chacarera and Chamamé with elements of jazz, tango and italian-spanish influence.

“Borghettinho”, as his fans like to call him, has been recording cds for more than 20 years. He has shared the stage with Stephane Grapelli, Ron Carter and Hermeto Pascoal and is the first Brazilian musician to achieve a golden record with purely instrumental music. “Gauchos”, his first European CD (Quinton 2005) was nominated for the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik” and has been presented with a lot of success with audience and press in numerous concerts and festivals all over Europe since. “Gaitaponto.Com”, Borghetti’s Brazilian release from 2005, was also nominated for a Grammy Latino. Let’s hope it works this time!
