Andrew Staupe (1984) studied at the University of Minnesota with pianist Lydia Artymiv and is currently studying with Jon Kimura Parker at Rice University in Houston.
Staupe made his professional debut in 2000 as soloist with the Kenwood Chamber Orchestra in Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto.
In 2003, Andrew Staupe placed first in the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition, the Thursday Musical Student Competition, the Mechelke Piano Competition, the University of Minnesota Concerto Competition and in 2006 he was winner of the Seventh Elinor Watson Bell Piano Competition and the prestigious Minnesota Orchestra’s WAMSO Young Artist Competition. This led to invitations to perform with the Minnesota Orchestra in Rachmaninoff 's first piano concerto and in the second piano concerto by Liszt.
After Andrew Staupe participated at the Summer Academy of The International Holland Music Sessions he was invited by this foundation for international concerts in the series 'New Masters on Tour' 2009/2010. |
