The patroness of the festival Inessa Galante (she was awarded Gold and Platinum discs for the continuing sales of her CDs) performs on the greatest opera stages of Europe and USA.

The New York born soprano, Janice Dixon after performing with renowned orchestras New York Philharmonic, American Symphony and in venues such as Carnegie Hall,Alice Tully Hall, embarked upon an extensive tour performing the role of Bess in George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess which included not only the Continent of America, but also Australia, Paris, Netherlands, Switzerland and London. It was this role that brought her to Theater des Westens in Berlin, Germany, in which she celebrated her first of many successes in the extraordinarily well received production under the direction of Prof. Götz Friedrich. Her roles include among others, Tosca (Tosca), Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier), Senta (Der Fliegende Holländer), Elsa (Lohengrin), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Chrysothemis(Elektra), Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos), Abigaille (Nabucco), Desdemona (Otello), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan Tutte), as well as Lisa(Pique Dame), Tatjana (Eugen Onegin) and Eva (Die Meistersinger).

The Hungarian Gábor Boldoczki with his brilliant play is the exceptional trumpeter of his generation. Thus, it is not surprising that the renowned German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung named Gábor Boldoczki “the worthy successor” of the all time trumpet king Maurice André. The international press also calls him a magnificent trumpet virtuoso. After his celebrated debut at the Salzburg Festival 2004, the Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten ran the headline:
“A softly tongued articulation, the greatest agility, an extremely self-confident embouchure, a coloratura style … a soloist of this quality refines every piece of music.” His versatile repertoire ranges from Bach to Penderecki, from Vivaldi to Shostakovich to Hindemith, Takemitsu and Arvo Pärt. Gábor Boldoczki performs on B&S instruments.

The London Quartet (Richard Bryan, Steven Brooks, Mark Fleming, Michael Steffan) – has long been recognised to be one of Britain’s great vocal groups. Founded in Cambridge as a purely a cappella student group, they first came to prominence in the Tim Rice musical Blondel in London’s West End. Since then, they have pursued a policy of constant and dynamic renewal, pushing back musical frontiers, exploring ever-new territories and attracting a substantial following right across the musical spectrum, both in Europe and further afield. The London Quartet has appeared in a huge variety of venues, singing programmes   encompassing early polyphony through to jazz and contemporary music. They have toured extensively – from the United States to South Africa to Southeast Asia and the Far East. They have sung in the most prestigious venues for the most prestigious clientèle, including Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty the Queen. The London Quartet’s itinerary has taken them to such distant places as Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Sweden, Greece, Russia, Barbados, Hawaii and Tahiti. They have presented their programme in French, German, Italian, Castilian, Catalan, Greek, Turkish, Romanian, Portuguese, Flemish and Korean.

This evening the soloists play with the Latvian National Symphony orchestra. Maestro Aleksandrs Viïumanis, one of the most remarkable Latvian conductors, takes part in the Gala concert as well.
